FAQ

Where is your office located?

I am located at 30 Tower Lane, Suite 100, Avon, CT, 06001. Please note that I recently moved from my prior location in Canton.

When you arrive, please relax and make yourself comfortable in the waiting area. I will come out and greet you at the start of your appointment time.

What are your office hours?

Mondays, 1pm-9pm
Tuesdays, 1pm-9pm
Wednesdays, 10am-3pm
Thursdays, 7am-3pm

How long are your sessions?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes.

How do I pay?

I take cash, check, or credit card. For credit charging, I use Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant mobile app that protects your security.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently an in-network provider with ConnectiCare, Oxford and United. For all other insurances I am considered an out-of-network provider. Superbills can be provided at the end of each session upon request.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations without a 48-hour notice will result in the client being charged in full for the missed session.

Do I need to complete any forms prior to our first session?

Yes. I will email the link to the portal where you can electronically complete the forms once we schedule your first appointment.

What can I expect in the first session?

During our first session, I will gather background information and review the information you provided on your electronic intake form. Once that is completed, I generally start by asking what led you to reach out to me. Then we go from there.

What is therapy like with you?

Good question! My clients have told me that I am very approachable and down-to-earth. I ask direct questions, but I am also a very good listener. Depending on what you need in a given session, we can talk a lot – or we can slow things down and do body-centered work.

I use several modalities in my therapeutic work that we can discuss in more detail either over the phone or in-person at our first session.

Can I ask you personal questions?

Sure. You can always ask. I will answer honestly without sharing a lot of details.

Also, I have strong boundaries in our sessions, but will share personal info if I feel it could be helpful to your process.

Does anyone cry in front of you?

All the time. It is the perfect place to do it. For this reason, I have plenty of tissues in stock.

Tears neither scare me, nor make me think you are “weak.” If anything, crying in front of another person is a brave thing to do, and I welcome it in our sessions.

Do I have to tell you everything?

You can tell me what you want at your own pace. Keep in mind, though, shame hates accountability. So, if shame is keeping you quiet (as it usually does), I hope in time you will feel comfortable telling me.
